Kindergarten through 5th Grade
Elementary kids love Rock City! It’s a unique space and place where fun happens, faith grows and children are loved and accepted for who they are in Christ.
On Sunday mornings, we offer an arrival time where our children engage in fun activities that introduce them to each week’s lesson. Each Sunday morning also includes a time of lively worship and meaningful Bible teaching. We often have a full band in Rock City and drama, too! A key component to our ministry is our small group time where children connect with their leaders and with one another for faith discussions, life application, and important lesson activities.
In Rock City, we use 252 Basics curriculum. This curriculum is specially designed with an elementary child’s developmental level and interests in mind as it engages children through discovery. Each month is centered on a life app or characteristic of God. As children grow in their understanding of God and in His character, they are better able to live out their faith and reflect Jesus to the world around them.
Our goal, and the goal of 252 Basics, is for our elementary children to know and grow in these Three Basic Truths:
I need to make a wise choice.
I can trust God no matter what.
I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
We also want our children to develop important skills and disciplines as they grow and mature in their walk with the Lord. These faith skills help kids grow in their relationship with God, and will help guide their conversations about faith with their families. These four faith skills are foundational to our teaching in Rock City.
Hear – listen to God’s words
Pray – dialogue with God
Talk – articulate your faith
Live – worship with your life
We are dedicated to providing a place where children can be known, where they can belong, and where they are nurtured by loving leaders who believe in God and believe in them.
