Partnering with parents
What we can do together, the church and the family, will have a greater impact on their faith than what either of us can do on our own. Therefore, it is our goal to partner with you, parents and care-givers, to influence the spiritual development of your children so that they achieve a growing faith that will last a lifetime.
“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”
With this command on our hearts, we offer resources to help you engage your children in faith-building conversations and activities at home. We encourage you put these tools into practice. Make them a regular part of your family rhythm and watch the faith of your family blossom and grow!
Parent Cues are available each week to take and use at home. Parent Cues help you know each month’s theme, the memory verse, the Bottom Line, and the Bible stories that your children, two year olds through 5th grade, are learning in their time with us. In Pebble Path the Parent Cue comes in the form of a monthly placemat to make it easy to display and use at mealtimes.
Using our Parent Cues will help you encourage an everyday faith for your kids and for your family.
Parent Cue App
This is a must-have app for all of our Cornerstone families! Download the Parent Cue app to your phone or tablet and you will have access to wonderful resources that reinforce all that your children are learning in their time with us. You and your children can listen to songs, watch video Bible stories, and learn ways to talk about faith in everyday conversations with your kids in the car, at mealtimes, at bath times, and more. Download it here. Parent Cue App
Our Rock City kids receive a weekly devotional handout containing four days of developmentally sound devotional material that reinforces all that they learn in Rock City. Encourage your children to use these GodTimes each week to develop an important daily practice of spending time with the Lord. Each GodTime includes:
A verse to read.
A devotion paragraph that teaches something about God and an explanation of the day’s verse.
An activity that makes real-life application of the day’s devotion.
A suggested prayer.
Salvation & Baptism
We will support you as you lead your children to a growing knowledge of God’s grace and mercy, and of their need for a Savior. We consider it a joy and an honor to walk beside you and your children as they make important faith decisions that lead to salvation and baptism.
