Volunteering At Cornerstone Church
Every single week, our volunteers give their time and skills to serve others. Greeting, ushering, teaching, preparing food… there is a fit for you somewhere.
Our KidzTown team exists to unveil God’s love to the children and families who attend Cornerstone Church. Volunteers serve on Sunday morning in our KidzTown area greeting, teaching, playing music and performing drama for our five year olds through fifth graders. For more information about KidzTown just send an email to Michael McClendon, Director of Elementary Ministries.
Like to hold babies and sit on the floor with children? Then the Seaside team is for you. Seaside is the area of our building designed for infants, toddlers and their families. Using an ocean theme with a real dock, our Seaside volunteers provide love and care for the littlest of our church family. Contact Jill Harris, Director of Early Childhood Ministries, for more information on volunteering in Seaside.
Our First Impressions Ministry is designed to serve our guests on Sunday morning. The First Impressions Team is made up of ten teams serving together for one common purpose. They all serve to remove any barriers for our guests worshiping on Sunday mornings. We want them to feel comfortable and be able to focus on Christ. If you are interested in serving on or would like more information about a team please contact the team leader.
- Greeter Team- Do you have a firm handshake and know how to smile? The Greeter Team might be the place for you. This team greets our guests, regular attenders and members as they arrive on Sunday morning. Team Leader: Brent Massey
- Recovery Team- This team includes what most people know as ushers but is so much more. Team members arrive and do a walk through of the worship area checking to make sure everything is in it’s place and ready to go. Then after the service they pick up any trash and make sure the building is ready to go for the next service. Team Leader: John Harris
- Parking Lot Team- This team is all about logistics. Help our Sunday morning people get in and out of the parking lot safely and efficiently. This is the first experience many people will have at Cornerstone and we want it to be great. Team Leader: Mike Gaston
- KidzTown Check-In Team- Help our kids get checked in to their classrooms so their parents know they are safe and in the right place. Team Leader: Amy Fisher
- Information Desk Team- Well it’s actually not a desk but more of a Kiosk. If you like to help people and feel comfortable navigating a Web browser this team is for you. Team Leader: Greg Powell
- Kitchen Team- This team gets up early but it’s worth it. Help bake the biscuits and get the food ready for our guests. Team Leader: April Olive
- Cafe Team- This team is responsible for making the coffee and helping serve food and drinks before each service. Another great team to serve with if you know how to smile. Team Leader: April Olive
- Security Team- Help keep our kids safe on Sunday morning. This team requires a background check. Team Leader: Billy Browdy
- Bookstore Team- Ever worked in retail, then this is your team. Help our growing bookstore by serving before and after the service. Team Leader: Ashley Belcher
- Green Thumb Team- This team does not serve on Sunday morning. They meet periodically throughout the year to make sure the landscape is attractive and in good condition. Team Leader: John Biblis
There are many other volunteer teams who serve throughout the week; photography, afternoon reception desk, and Second Saturday to name a few. For more information you can email Jack Fisher.
