God has been up to something for a while now. There have been students meeting together for nearly 6 months now. They have been envisioning and dreaming of something more…of something different. The focus has been on community and fellowship for students that requires more than simple attendance to an event. True community and growth has been the aim, and that’s exactly where we’re heading. All students have fellowship of one kind or another and the group of people they do life with affects them for the better or the not so better, for their own growth or their shrinking back, for the advancement of the Kingdom or not.

my hope and prayer is that in joining this community, students will find a home church as well as a fellowship that pushes them - in their relationships, studies, and faith in a way that forcefully advances the Kingdom of Heaven. my prayer is that students will see a real, raw place of worship they call home for however long they are in Auburn.

this fall we’re set to roll out a lot of things with students. if you are new to Auburn and/or Cornerstone, i hope that you will join this amazing community.  if you are a student, i would like to invite you to join us in whatever capacity you are comfortable with. that being said however, i truly hope that God stirs in your heart a longing for more than the average 4 years here. i pray that you truly beleive you’re calling is to change the world, whatever sphere of society God calls you in to.

there will be a lot of information rolling out soon, and i’ll continue to post things here to keep you up to date.

the spread at College Lunch

It was an amazing day of worship followed by an outpouring of love from our church family to somewhere around 125 college students. it was amazing!

this Thursday (4/30), or Dead Day for students, the worship space will be turned into a study space for students prepping for exams starting on Friday. Come as early as 8:00AM and stay all day and into the night if you need to. Cornerstone will provide the space, the tables, chairs, sofas, free coffee and free wi-fi that you need to study - so come on and bring your friends and classmates.

As if that wasn’t enough we had a bunch of us head over the the stadium to watch the Dark Knight from the field.  Being the school with the largest HD jumbotron has it’s purks.  Over a thousand students packed out the field with blankets, pillows, and crazy creeks.  It was an awesome thursday with Cornerstone College, their were still people I didn’t know and we had some awesome time doing life together.  I now have a Passion for ultimate frisbee and to one day become a jack rabbit on the field myself (that one’s for you LeeCadden).

after ultimate we’re going to head over to Jordan-Hare stadium for the UPC’s playing of The Dark Knight on the jumbo-tron. plan on bringing a blanket to lay/sit on as we’ll be sitting on the field to watch the movie. We’ll meet at the student entrance at 7 if you can want to come only to the movie.

Once Matt finished, we took the opportunity to pray for the entire Grace Campus Hong Kong team. We gathered around them, layed hands on them all, and prayed for them. I know that God has a great future in store for them and I’m getting pretty stoked as i see the limitless opportunities for us a church here in Auburn, AL to partner with them in the years to come, both as a college community but also as an entire church family.

If last night was your first night at Cornerstone College, i think i speak for our entire body of beleivers  that there is a place for you at Cornerstone Church. There is a home for you while you are in this season of your life (or longer should you make Auburn home).
