Easter // more than a chance for a chocolate bunny

Two weeks to Easter. This is one of my favorite times of the year for the sole purpose of being able to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. This is the victory celebration. I intend to write quite a bit about what we are planning and doing at Cornerstone during this season of Easter, and hope you will be as excited as I am about the journey we will be embarking on over the coming 2 weeks. But first a quick story.

Two years ago, shortly before arriving in Auburn, I was in Atlanta finishing up a few college classes. It happened that one of the classes I was taking at the time focused specifically on proofs of the resurrection and that I was taking the class at the same time as the Easter season. I remember specifically thinking that no other Easter had ever been so significant as we studied the prophecies from the Old Testament as well as the accounts of the New Testament. As Josh said so great yesterday, I was immersed in the story, engulfed in the scene of the entire experience.

What we desire is that this will be one of those monumental Easter experiences for you. There is no greater joy than to know that Jesus has ransomed us, redeemed us, and restore us. We celebrate individually and corporately because of this one event in history. Will you join us on the journey?

Stay tuned as we move forward. I’ll give you a glimpse into what will be happening Maundy Thursday and Good Friday as well. In the meantime, immerse yourself in Matthew 26 and 27 specifically, and take some time to read the other accounts of the crucifixion and the resurrection.
