Food and Fellowship

I once heard someone say that “Fellowship was an old school Christian term.” Not at Cornerstone, it is alive and well and we proved that at our first Fellowship event of 2009. We had our second annual Wild Game Dinner last month and over 170 people were at Cornerstone hanging out and enjoying some great food.

The fun started about 2 pm in the parking lot when one of the contest teams fired up their grill. Later in the afternoon they were joined by several other teams and the competition was on. By 6 pm our judges (Ray Hornsby, Phillip Coxwell, Fletcher Dawson & Hilary Turner) had a spread of a dozen or so wild game specialties to taste. It was a tough job, so tough we had to call in a tie-breaking judge (Emily Prestridge) for second place.

When the dust settled the winners were announced:

  • First Place- Julie Feehan and Brent Massey
  • Second Place- Tommy & Neva Wilson
  • Third Place- Becky Hutson (with a little help from Rusty)

We want to thank Chad & Jeni Newbolt for their help in organizing the evening. They provided inspiration and also the great door prizes. Keep an eye out for our next fellowship event coming in the spring. It’s just around the corner.

The winning dish by Julie Feehan and Brent Massey.
